Governments alone cannot meet SDGs. They need partnerships with citizens and community organizations to sustainably meet the goals. However, there is no platform in Pakistan where community organizations can mobilize volunteers to establish these partnerships. Milkar.com is a digital platform which connects students with volunteering opportunities in their community to achieve SDGs. Started in 2019, Milkar.com has become Pakistan’s largest independent youth volunteer platform. 8,462 volunteers are registered on Milkar, who have volunteer for over 6,000 hours with 149 NGOs in 354 community projects for the following SDGs: SDG 1 & 10 (working with micro-finance institutions), SDG 2 (running soup kitchens), SDG 3 (COVID mask distribution and medical camps), SDG 4 (teaching in orphan schools), SDG 13 (tree plantation drives, plastic waste collection).
