AKHUWAT

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW

Akhuwat’s Volunteer Program (AVP) is a platform for all members of society interested in social development at large and Akhuwat’s model in particular. The goal of AVP is to provide a consolidated (automated) platform for individuals interested in volunteering with Akhuwat and widening our outreach to new geographic locations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The 4 key deliverables we aim to achieve out of the AVP are:

  • Collecting clothing items for donation to Akhuwat Clothes Bank
  • Fundraising to donate at least 6 bricks for “Buy a brick” campaign
  • Act as Akhuwat ambassadors in their respective schools, institutions and spread the message of Akhuwat to a minimum of 20 people
  • Use any medium (article, video etc) to express what Akhuwat means to them

PERKS AND BENEFITS

  1. On successful completion of the task, volunteers will receive a certification from Akhuwat.
  2. Volunteers will also receive feedback on their performance to build their profiles.

 

CHADAR

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW

A typical StreetStore has three phases that are executed in approximately 40 days. Chadar may recruit volunteers for collecting donations, ticketing, providing logistic support, packaging wearables, and handling tasks for the event’s efficacious execution. The suggested locations for StreetStore are Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Phase 1: Donation Collection

In this phase, volunteers will collect donations. The donations are further divided into two major categories:

  • Clothes and other wearables (shoes, accessories, etc.)
  • Finances (money)

Phase 2: Survey

Teams of five people will be sent to a designated location to ticket and market StreetStore to families. They will maintain a list of the number of families. This phase can be conducted simultaneously with the donation phase. Any week between 20th October to 20th November may be designated for this task.

 

Phase 3: Processing, Preparation and Execution

Volunteers will provide logistics for moving donations to a single location/organization. They will also sift through the material donations, throw out any worn-out clothes and wearables, and then handle the packaging of remaining apparel.

 

Preparation

In this sub-phase, volunteers will manage and make all the essential preparations at the designated venue including setting up tents, stalls, chairs, tables, and any other necessities for the event.

 

Execution

Volunteers will be divided into multiple teams:

  • Security
  • Ticketing
  • Ushering
  • Stalls
  • Media
